Debbie Turczan has been a Physical Therapist, with a focus on hands-on treatment techniques, for 11 years. As a manual therapist, Debbie facilitates the body’s natural healing processes and movement patterns using techniques including CranioSacral Therapy, Visceral Mobilization, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation, and Therapeutic Yoga, with the goals of relieving pain and restoring mobility.
Debbie received her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Boston University in 2001. She completed a post-graduate residency program in Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation in Vallejo, CA, and has earned certifications in CranioSacral Therapy and Therapeutic Yoga.
Debbie’s preferred treatment approach is CranioSacral Therapy, which she learned about while looking for relief from the symptoms of a 2-year struggle with Lyme disease. While undergoing months of intensive “western” and homeopathic medical treatments that would eventually cured the Lyme, she experienced a daily battle with headaches, joint and extremity pain, extreme fatigue, and severely limited mental focus. Following the advice of a colleague, she tried CranioSacral Therapy at the hands of a very talented practitioner, and was amazed by the experience. Within just a few sessions, her headaches lifted, her mental focus improved, and her energy levels increased. As a patient, Debbie was overjoyed. As a Physical Therapist, she was very curious…how could this gentle and seemingly simple technique make such a positive difference in how she felt? To satisfy her professional and personal curiosity, Debbie signed up for a training course in CranioSacral Therapy…and found her view of healing and treatment completely transformed. She is thrilled to be certified in this powerful treatment approach by the Upledger Institute, and uses it every day to help others restore balance, recover from injury and illness, and release pain.
